How can we help?
Find answers to the most common questions below. If you can't find what you're looking for, reach out directly.
We typically reply within 1–2 business days.
Tap the + button on the Trips screen to create a new trip. Give it a name, set the dates, and optionally pick a cover photo. Once created, you can start adding activities, flights, hotels, travelers, and packing items.
Inside a trip, go to the Itinerary tab and tap + to add an activity manually, or switch to the Map view and tap any location directly on the map to add it to your day with one tap.
Open the trip and tap the People icon (or the travelers section). Add each traveler by name. Once added, each traveler gets their own packing list and can be assigned budget expenses individually.
No. Zmew is local-first — there is no account, no sign-up, and no login. Your data lives on your device. Trip sharing and iCloud sync use your existing Apple ID, which you already have.
Go to Settings → AI Assistant and choose your provider:
- Apple Intelligence — no setup needed. Runs entirely on-device. Requires a compatible iPhone (iPhone 16 or later, or iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max) with Apple Intelligence enabled in iOS Settings.
- Google Gemini — paste your Gemini API key from Google AI Studio.
- OpenAI — paste your API key from your OpenAI account.
Once configured, open any trip and tap the AI button to start a conversation.
Apple Intelligence runs fully on-device — nothing leaves your phone. For Gemini and OpenAI, Zmew sends only your trip's day structure and activity names as context. No traveler names, budget data, documents, or personal information are included automatically. Anything you type in the chat is your responsibility and is sent directly to the provider under your agreement with them. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
- Make sure you copied the full key with no trailing spaces.
- Check that your account with the provider has an active billing method and has not exceeded its quota.
- For Gemini, confirm the key has access to the Gemini API (not just other Google Cloud APIs).
- Try removing the key in Settings and re-entering it.
If the issue persists, contact us at support@zmew.app.
Zmew Pro unlocks: AI Trip Assistant (Apple Intelligence, Gemini, OpenAI), 3D interactive globe, spending charts in the Budget tab, budget CSV export, KML import and export, itinerary PDF export, and packing list PDF export.
Everything else — trips, activities, packing, budget tracking, documents, analytics, calendar export, and trip sharing — is free with no limits.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. To cancel:
- Open iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions
- Tap Zmew and then Cancel Subscription
Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not process cancellations directly.
Open Zmew, go to Settings → Zmew Pro and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that originally purchased the subscription.
Try Restore Purchases in Settings → Zmew Pro first. If that doesn't resolve it, force-close and reopen the app. If the issue persists, email us at support@zmew.app and we'll help you sort it out.
Open the trip, tap the Share button, and choose to invite people via their Apple ID or iCloud email. You can invite them as a viewer (read-only) or collaborator (can edit). They will receive a link and the trip appears in their Zmew app once accepted.
Yes. Trip sharing is powered by Apple CloudKit and requires the other person to have Zmew installed on their iPhone and be signed in with an Apple ID.
- Make sure both devices have an active internet connection.
- Check that iCloud is enabled for Zmew in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
- Force-close and reopen Zmew — this triggers a fresh sync.
- If iCloud is experiencing issues, check Apple's System Status page.
Open your trip, tap the options menu (⋯), and choose Export to Calendar. This exports an ICS file that can be imported into Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or any calendar app. This feature is free.
PDF export is a Zmew Pro feature. With an active Pro subscription, open your trip, tap the options menu (⋯), and choose Export PDF. You can export the full itinerary, selected days, or your packing list with traveler and status filters.
All local data is removed when you delete the app. If you had iCloud Backup enabled, your data may still be present in your device backup — you can restore it by reinstalling Zmew and restoring from that backup. We do not store any of your trip data on our servers.
